2019.06.04 Release Notes

Welcome, Misty Developers!

We’re excited to announce the next release for the Misty platform. This release brings a handful of bug fixes and improvements to Misty II field trial robots. Additionally, it provides Misty’s community of early developers with access to pre-release versions of two new online tools for working with Misty. Read on to learn more!

Please note: The robot software updates packaged with this release are only available for Misty II field trial robots. Misty I robots will not receive a system update as part of this release.

Because Misty’s software upgrades are delivered over-the-air (“OTA”) updates, Misty will automatically download and install the update within the next 24 hours (the precise timing of the update’s availability may vary by region). You also have the option of checking to see if the update is available and initiating the process yourself via the new Command Center. Note: If your Misty II is on a version of the Home Robot app earlier than 2.0.3.0, you’ll need to check for updates using an older version of the original API Explorer.

Important: When Misty’s battery is charged or she is connected to power, she checks for and installs available updates each time she boots up. Misty reboots once during a system update. All commands except Halt and Stop are disabled while Misty is updating. If Misty starts to install an update while charging, please do not disconnect Misty from her power source until her eyes are fully open again.

As always, we look forward to your feedback!

Read more about the API Explorer in the developer documentation.

Note: Both of these tools are in a pre-release state and, as such, all features may not be fully functional. The current functionality of these tools does not represent that of the final product, and both tools may undergo significant changes before they are officially released.
