2019.05.03 Release Notes

Welcome, Misty Developers!

We’re excited to announce the next system update for Misty II field trial robots. In addition to various bug fixes and improvements, this release upgrades Misty’s API with new proportional integral derivative (PID) driving commands. You can use these commands to have Misty make precise turns or drive in straight lines and automatically correct variations from a specific absolute heading. We’ve also updated Misty’s system to remember credentials for Wi-Fi networks to which she has previously connected.

Please note: Misty I robots will not receive an update with this release.

Because this release is being delivered as an over-the-air (“OTA”) update, Misty will automatically update within the next 24 hours (the precise timing of the update’s availability may vary by region). You also have the option of checking to see if the update is available and initiating the process yourself via the API Explorer. Note: If your Misty II is on a version of the Home Robot app earlier than, you’ll need to check for updates using an older version of the API Explorer.

Important: When Misty’s battery is charged or she is connected to power, she checks for and installs available updates each time she boots up. Misty reboots once during a system update. All commands except Halt and Stop are disabled while Misty is updating. If Misty starts to install an update while charging, please do not disconnect Misty from her power source until her eyes are fully open again.

As always, we look forward to your feedback!
